The Reset Room is back!
Want to reach your full potential in life? Tired of feeling stressed, or that your best is never good enough? The Reset Room podcast is here to help, with lots of practical advice on the trials and tribulations of everyday life.
We launched The Reset Room last year and covered topics as diverse as ‘life after lockdown’ to ‘preparing for winter’.
Feedback from listeners on the first series was really positive with some reporting significant changes to their lives as a result of the advice they heard on the podcast.
Host Kelly Crichton teamed up with life coaching and personal development experts Amana Walker and Kay Woodburn of Gritty People to discuss topics that are really impacting people’s lives, like anxiety, imposter syndrome and toxic environments.
In this new series, topics we will cover include ‘burnout and how to avoid it’, ‘valuing time’ and ‘why we think we’re not good enough, and what we can do about it’.
Series Two will feature a number of special guests too, including broadcaster and psychotherapist Alistair Appleton, who talks to Kelly about anxiety and gives listeners great insight and some very practical tips.
Amana Walker, aka The Spotlight Coach, said:
“We tend to put ourselves at the bottom of our very own lists, and that holds us back from doing the things that are important to us - for you that might be about performance, or success, or about living the life you want to live.
“The truth is, we can be our own worst enemies sometimes, and that just adds to the pressures we face.
“But I’ve coached so many top sporting professionals and famous recording artists over the years and I can talk about why we do some of the things we do, the impact that has and how, with confidence, we can change our life. I love that the stuff we chat about on The Reset Room is so relevant for everyone.
She adds: “It’s amazing how powerful a personal reset can be. It’s worth a listen for the free tips - either for yourself or to help someone you know.”
Kay Woodburn of Gritty People said: “I work with elite athletes all the time and in this industry there is a really good understanding that physical health and fitness is not the only thing that matters - your mind needs to be strong too.
“I love being part of The Reset Room as I get to share some of my learnings with listeners from across my career and the multitude of challenges I have helped my clients with over the years.
“Plus, if you get in touch with an issue we often tackle as many of them as we can on air, so it’s a podcast that wants to help people.”
The Reset Room is available to download on all podcast platforms, including Apple and Spotify. If you like what you hear, please give us a rating and review, as it helps us to reach more listeners.

Older women are ‘a tremendous asset to a business’: why employers should adapt the workplace for the menopause
It is something that affects half of workers - but many of them remain silent about how their symptoms are impacting their jobs.
The menopause, which mainly affects women over-45, can make the working day more difficult. Whether it’s the hot flashes or cases of brain fog, older women can suffer in silence.
According to a 2019 survey, three out of five menopausal women were negatively affected at work - and an estimated 900,000 women in the UK have left the jobs because of their symptoms.
The latest episode of The Menopod - the podcast that tackles puberty's evil older sister one gin and tonic at a time - takes a look at the menopause in the workplace.
Award-winning podcast hosts Susan Lee and Dawn Collinson also discuss how older women are an asset to employers.
Dawn explains that women leaving their jobs because of menopausal symptoms is not just bad for the employees - but businesses, too.
“As we know, women - when they get between mid-40s to mid-50s, and beyond - are often at the absolute height of their career. They’ve got all this wealth of experience,” she told the podcast.
“So it just seems madness for employers to see all of that and go, ‘No, we’re not going to help you’, and wave you out of the door. Especially because menopausal women are just a huge growing element of the workplace.
“We don't want businesses to see women who are going through the menopause as a liability. We want to see them as an asset - women in their 40s and 50s and over can be a tremendous asset to a business.
Dawn adds: “We need not to be viewed as something which is going to cause problems.”
Whilst the menopause has “never been more front and centre”, Sue adds, she said that it can be a nightmare for women to explain the symptoms to their managers at work.
“Brain fog is a nightmare when you’re trying to be in a meeting or hold down a job. Women feel embarrassed and reticent to raise that with their line manager or the people in charge,” Sue said.
“I feel really discombobulated some days. And actually, very, very minor tweaks in my working environment will help.
“I think businesses need to lead from the front foot. It behoves businesses to make the workforce and workplace as accessible as possible to women of our age, because you know what? We’re not retiring anytime soon.”
Sue suggests that businesses should appoint someone in the office as a go-to person for menopausal issues.
“Some women will feel very awkward about going to their male boss or their male line manager. They may even feel awkward about going to their female line manager,” she explains.
“Perhaps this is a bit crass, but you know that we have a First Aider in our offices. Why don't we have somebody who's the nominated somebody to go to about the menopause?
“I mean, we have people who offer advice on mental health issues. So why not? Why not the menopause?”
