Hello,
I’m Kelly, one of the Podcast Producers here at Laudable and this is my first time writing our newsletter. I started this job in June and I have been delighted to be involved in so many interesting podcasts with such diverse topics since then.
It’s hard to believe we’re approaching the end of August, schools are back here in Scotland and the end of the holiday season is nigh south of the border too. It’s time for routine to reemerge for many. If you’ve been missing out on some of your favourite podcasts recently you can always catch up or try something new, variety is the spice of podcast listening after all.
In this newsletter we will whet your appetite for our brand new podcast ‘The Reset Room’ which will be launching in September.
We’ve got new episodes from The Steamie and Scran too. In this week’s episode of The Steamie hosts, Gina, Conor and regular guest Alex, mull over the historic Green/SNP agreement and talk about the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban in recent weeks. Scran brings us much-needed Scottish Rum news and Brummie Mummies talks about something I feel very, very strongly about - the importance of me time for mums and dads :)
Get expert advice from The Reset Room
Our brand new podcast The Reset Room, which will launch in September, aims to equip you with the tools to succeed and to answer your questions on your journey to fulfilment.
Each week The Reset Room will cover specific topics relating to life, performance and pressure.
In episode one, I will be joined by resident experts in life coaching and personal development, Amana Walker and Kay Woodburn. They will look at ‘Life after Lockdown’ and reemerging into both the workplace and society, which is proving daunting for some.
A lot of things have changed since the start of the pandemic and many people have changed jobs or working patterns. Some are find themselves in situations they may not have been in before and this can lead to various challenges and anxiety but also opportunities. Have a listen to our trailer for the news series to learn more here.
Our resident experts have years of experience in helping people in all walks of life achieve and perform to the best of their potential. Email me on kelly.crichton@jpimedia.co.uk if you’d like to be in with a chance of getting some free expert advice - it can be totally anonymous if you like of course.
Watch out for the launch of The Reset Room in September 2021.
It’s all about me - for once!
In this episode of Brummie Mummies we hear from single working mum and blogger Lavania Oluban - she tells us all about why she set up her and her son’s blog “The Amazing Adventures of Me’ and why ‘me-time’ is so important for mums and dads. Find out how Lavania makes sure to factor in time for herself everyday and why no parent should feel guilty for taking the time to look after themselves as well as their little one. I hear you Lavania.
Meet the new kids on the Scottish rum block
On this episode of Scran, Rosalind chats to Fraser Graham from Cabezon Beverage.
Cabezon together with Lost Loch distillery in Aboyne, launched a botanical rum last year, making them one of the newer kids on the burgeoning Scottish rum block. You may not have know there is a rum block but, from what we hear - it’s well worth checking out!
Rosalind spoke to Fraser about the rum scene in Scotland, changing tastes and appetites for local produce, rum cocktails and how taking Buckfast to a desert island may be a great idea…or not!
The Steamie on the week’s big news
The Scotsman's politics team takes a look at the big news in UK and Scottish politics, examining the SNP's deal with the Scottish Greens and the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan.
The joy of The Steamie is that the reporters who present it are really smart, know there stuff but talk like normal humans - so you can get a good understanding of the ramifications of what’s happening in politics both at home and in relation to international going-ons; such as what is currently happening in Afghanistan. And essentially what it means for us and the future. Check it out.
We’ll be back very soon to tell you all about some exciting new episodes and podcasts heading your way this Autumn. In the meantime, pop in those earphones, crank up the speaker or put on the car bluetooth and let us entertain you.
Thanks for listening.
Kelly
